Lamb Of God’s Mark Morton Streams New Single, New Album Due In March


Acclaimed guitarist for Lamb Of God, Mark Morton will release his debut solo album on March 1st, 2019th. Anesthetic will be a collaborative album bringing stars from across rock and metal such as his bandmate D. Randall Blythe, Alissa white-Gluz, Chuck Billy, Jacoby Shaddix, Myles Kennedy, Mark Lanegan, Jake Oni, and the late Chester Bennington among others. Metal Allegiance To Reprise “Black Sabbath” Tribute At Their January Show


Metal supergroup Metal Allegiance has booked their 5th annual show at House Of Blues Anaheim on January 24th, and it promises to be a major rager. The band has now announced that they will reprise their tribute to Black Sabbath’s classic self-titled debut album, which performed in October at Brooklyn Bowl. We were on hand last week to see metal history as Metal Allegiance, themselves a supergroup of the greatest metal musicians (Mike Portnoy, Alex Skolnick, David Ellefson, Mark Menghi) played New York City’s Gramercy Theatre. Dee Snider – For The Love Of Metal


Let’s make one thing clear – if after seeing the name Dee Snider, you were just expecting to hear another standard, classic sounding, mid-late eighties Twisted Sister record, then you might want to take a moment before diving in. There are no callbacks to big hair and garish warpaint here, no ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’, or ‘I Wanna Rock’ bouncy bubblegum rock songs, and there’s absolutely no campy “Twisted Christmas” seasonal type fun. Hell, this is barely even a Dee Snider solo album in the classic sense, so you can also forget about him repeating the likes of Never Let The Bastards Wear You Down (Koch), his Desperado album Bloodied But Unbowed (Destroyer), or even his previous solo release We Are the Ones (earMUSIC).Continue reading

Arch Enemy – Will To Power


With former frontwoman Angela Gossow leaving the band in 2014, and uncertainty in the guitarist department since the departure of Christopher Amott, it was almost a foregone conclusion that more changes in the Arch Enemy camp lay ahead. Having already released War Eternal (Century Media) with Gossow’s replacement, former The Agonist singer Alissa White-Gluz, the band’s new album Will To Power (Century Media) marks the full-length début of former Nevermore guitar maestro Jeff Loomis. Although a hugely popular choice among fans, it does seem a little strange that lead guitarist Michael Amott should then come out so publicly, saying on one hand how perfectly Loomis fits in the band, yet on the other stating how their two styles simply don’t mesh.Continue reading
