Alien Weaponry has announced that the original bassist Ethan Trembath has amicably exited the group to pursue studio work and to spend more time with his family. Replacing Ethan in the band is Turanga Morgan-Edwards who grew up playing music with the band and shares Maori ancestry with the group. The group shared a video making the announcement and even showed all four musicians recording vocals together in the studio. The thrash/group metal group was a revelation internationally the last few year, earning major touring slots and playing festivals all over the world. The band is expected to release new music in 2021, the follow up to 2018’s Tū full-length and 2019’s EP Blinded, both for Napalm Records. Watch the video below.
Ghost Cult is stoked to share the new single from Draemora – “Guilt”! The track comes from their upcoming EP Awakening (Ultra Nast Records). ‘Guilt’ features the band’s penchant for mixing their brutal modern metal with glorious rock melodies! Think of a sound that meshes Gojira, Alien Weaponry, Faith No More, and the more recent era of Lamb of God, and you might begin to understand the group! Check out the track now and pre-order the EP from your new favorite band, below!Continue reading
Exit 111 Festival, aptly named for the highway exit in Manchester TN, made its début October 11-13, 2019. Arriving in powers of three, it was three days of riffs, rock, and rowdiness. One part Metal, one part Rock, one Southern rock, and a whole lot of nostalgia, the event hosted three stages: the Rise Above Stage (honored suicide awareness and featured many of the Classic rock/Southern rock acts), Heaven Stage (the main stage and home to the headliners), and Hell Stage (spotlighted mainly heavy artists).Continue reading

Alien Weaponry is not your average young adult metal band. They are taking the world by storm with their roots approach to metal, blending the culture of their homeland Tasmania and brutal metal with old-school 1990s grooves. The organizers of Copenhell Festival, where the band played this past week, shared a remarkable video of the band teaching the crowd the Maori ceremony they open every show with. Check it out! Rocklahoma 2019. Three days in the sun, dust, and more sun over Memorial Day weekend (four days technically if you count the Thursday night pre-party). This was the 12 year of this annual festival and it was set to be one for the books from the get-go. Getting to this massive party was no small task on my part. Driving from New Hampshire to Oklahoma isn’t exactly a relaxing Sunday drive. Two full days of driving, two full-on tornadoes, and 1,700 miles later, I had arrived at my Air BnB in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Roughly 50 minutes outside of Pryor.Continue reading
