Beastie Boys Square Unveiling Saturday September 9th, with Surviving Beasties Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz to Attend


 

In commemoration of the unveiling of Beastie Boys Square and 50 years of Hip-Hop, Mike Diamond (Mike D) and Adam Horovitz (Adrock), in association with The City of New York and Council Member Chris Marte, will be celebrating in the Lower East Side on September 9 beginning at 12:00 pm. on Rivington Street between Ludlow and Essex Streets. The celebration will go on until 2:00 p.m., and will feature a special guest DJ set by Jon Bless HiFi System, pop-up activations, and more.

Apple Options “Beastie Boys Story” Documentary, Limited IMAX Engagement This Spring


Apple announced they have acquited the rights to Beastie Boys Story, a new nonfiction film from Grammy Award-winning Beastie Boys members Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz and Academy Award-winning director Spike Jonze. A special cut of the documentary feature will open exclusively in select IMAX® theatres for a limited engagement April 3, before premiering globally on Apple TV+ on April 24. Based on the best-selling book Beastie Boys Book and limited engagement, sold-out tour, Beastie Boys Mike Diamond and Adam Horovitz, tell you an intimate, personal story of their band and 40 years of friendship in this live documentary experience directed by their longtime friend and collaborator, and their former “grandfather”, filmmaker Spike Jonze. Beastie Boys Book Tour Announces Three More Live Exclusive Events


One of the events of 2018 was the live Q & A book tour by Adam “Adrock” Horovitz and Michael “Mike D” Diamond to promote the Beastie Boys Book with the show Beastie Boys Story As Told By Michael Diamond & Adam Horovitz. Now due to overwhelming demand, three more events have been announced, directed by frequent Beastie Boys video and film collaborator Spike Jones. The tickets are on sale now at the link below and expected to sell out. As with any Beastie activity, the group has disbanded and everything is done with respect to the care and legacy of the group, in memory of their co-founder Adam “MCA” Yauch, who died of cancer in 2012.
