Short Fuse 59 Involved In A Tragic Accident, GoFundMe Launched

Rough news as Colorado hardcore band Short Fuse 59 was in a horrible car crash earlier this week which claimed the life of one person and left another in a coma. Others involved are said to have suffered minor injuries. The band had just wrapped up their first U.S. tour and were headed back home to Colorado when an apparent drunk driver rear-ended the band’s van and trailer, causing the van to lose control and overturn into the center meridian of Interstate 5 in Sacramento County. Friends and family of the band have set up a GoFundMe campaign to raise money for medical expenses and to support families. They have already raised over $21,000 for him in a single day.

Killed in the crash was If I Fail vocalist Colin Michael Mulhern, who had been running merch for Short Fuse 59 on the tour. Short Fuse 59 drummer Patrick Carney also suffered extensive injuries in the crash and was left in a coma. The unidentified woman who caused the crash was uninjured and arrested on suspicion of DUI with drugs and alcohol found in her vehicle. If I Fail issued the following statement regarding the loss of their bandmate via their Facebook:

We would like to thank everyone that has reached out to us during this difficult time. We are absolutely devastated of the loss of our brother and vocalist Colin Michael. The whole situation has left us speechless. He will be greatly missed by a countless amount of lives that he has touched.

Please keep your thoughts with our brothers in SHORT FUSE 59. There will be a gofundme link in the comments for Patrick Carney who is still recovering in the hospital.

If anyone wants to share memories of Colin please do so in the comments. We would love to hear your stories how Colin has impacted your life.

We had just finished recording our new EP and we want everyone to hear it as soon as possible. All Colin ever wanted was people to listen and sing his lyrics back to him. We are aiming to release it this Friday, August 31st. Titled “The Author of all your Pain”

Thank you for your continuous support. We love you Colin.
