We have followed Halestorm’scareer with close intent at Ghost Cult. From small clubs, to big arenas, to festival stages world-wide, and even music cruises, it’s little wonder they have become such a name in rock so fast. They live shows are becoming the stuff legend and frontwoman Lzzy Haleis the most charismatic a star we have seen in years.
Joining Halestorm on this run of dates is the legend Lita Ford, an idol to rockers big and small, and Dorothy, another star in the making. Dorothy’s high-energy show and tight band are not like most opening bands you will see very often. If you have a chance to catch them in your city, make sure you are right at the front rail.
Ford, whom Lzzy Hale herself predicted she would tour with in an interview with Ghost Cult over a year ago, has been rejuvenated the last few years of her career with a new album and her memoir. Lita is killing it live and still performs at a high level every night. Sure, fans want the big hits that end every show, but actually her deeper cuts in her set like ‘Living Like A Runaway’ and ‘Can’t Catch Me’ are really gratifying too.
Halestorm just kicks ass every show. While all eyes are on Lzzy since she is front and center, her bandmates are great and the fans are there to see the entire experience, not just the voice of their leader. This tour the band is playing a mostly split set between their best-loved work, The Strange CaseOf… and Into The Wild Life (both Atlantic Records). Captured tonight at The Marquee Theater in Tempe, Arizona by Isabel Uzcategui of Originate Designs Photography, you can feel the raw rock power come right through your screen.
