MTV Classic to Air a Tribute Block of Videos to Frankie Banali of Quiet Riot This Week After Fan Petition

In the wake of the death of Hard Rock Legend Frankie Banali of Quiet Riot, fans demanded their MTV, and were heard, in a way! Fans bombarded MTV Classic (basically the new VH1, where music lives as opposed to the main MTV channel) and the first half-hour of MTV Classic will be classic of Quiet Riot videos, paying tribute to the drummer and bandleader who died last week at age 68. Quiet Riot was one of the first bands to come off the sunset strop and became fixtures on MTV when it launched in 1981.

The fan petition worked! @MTVClassic is dedicating the 1st 1/2 hour of Metal Mayhem to @FrankieBanali this Friday @ 6pm PST/9pm EST for a 30 minute block of @QUIETRIOT videos airing w/ text honoring Frankie’s memory. Set your DVRs.
