Max Cavalera has done it all when it comes to the metal scene, but he says that this new venture with his wife, Gloria, brings him the most satisfaction in his life. The Cavaleras have created the Iggy Fund to support families dealing with Type 1 diabetes, and you can help out. As it states on the Iggy Fund’s page, more than 30,000 people are diagnosed with the disease in the U.S. each year, and they know first hand how expensive the medicince is. Their son Igor was diagnosed at age 2 with the Type 1 diabetes, and so they want to provide Iggy Kit‘s to help families dealing with the disease. Each Iggy Kit include a month’s worth of diabetes supplies and medication for both home and school. For most children, this includes 2-4 vials of insulin, glucometers, lancets, test strips, syringes, ketone test strips and glucagon rescue kits. This will go a long way in helping families take care of each other, and it’s an awesome show of support and love from the Cavalera couple.

Here’s what Max said on the new venture with his wife: “When people ask me what I’m most proud of, my answer might not be what you think. I’m fortunate to have performed as front man for the band Soulfly and Sepultura. But what brings me and my wife Gloria the most satisfaction is advocating for Type 1 diabetes.
