Back in June of 2016, Mastodon‘s Brent Hinds told Guitar World about a “pretty dark, beautiful, spooky, funky, and ethereal” solo record entitled Cold Dark Place. The record was originally supposed to be combined with what became their latest release, but as we all know by now, Emperor Of Sand came out by itself back in March.
According to ThePRP.com, a now pulled Amazon listing has Cold Dark Place scheduled for a September 22nd release date via Reprise. In case that’s not enough to make you believe that this is happening, Brent posted cover artwork for Cold Dark Place below. Stay tuned for more details as we get them!
