Malcolm Young, Guitar Legend And Co-Founder Of AC/DC, Dead At 64


A terrible loss for the music world as co-founding guitarist Malcolm Young of AC/DC has died at age 64. He had been in ill-health since 2013 since he suffered a stroke, and forced to retire from the band, One of the architects of the sound of AC/DC with his riffs and songwriting style, Young has left a mark on rock history we will all feel forever. The band has commented on his passing.

Angus Young commented:

As a guitarist, songwriter and visionary he was a perfectionist and a unique man. He always stuck to his guns and did and said exactly what he wanted. He took great pride in all that he endeavored. His loyalty to the fans was unsurpassed”

As his brother it is hard to express in words what he has meant to me during my life, the bond we had was unique and very special.”

“He leaves behind an enormous legacy that will live on forever. Malcolm, job well done.”

The band released a statement on their website:

“Renowned for his musical prowess, Malcolm was a songwriter, guitarist, performer, producer and visionary who inspired many,”.

From the outset, he knew what he wanted to achieve and, along with his younger brother, took to the world stage giving their all at every show. Nothing less would do for their fans.”

He is survived by his wife O’Linda and two children. We send our sympathies to Malcom’s family, friends, and AC/DC fans worldwide at this time.
