Lightning Strikes Injure Fans At Germany’s Rock Am Ring Festival

According to The Guardian Newspaper, lighting struck the grounds of Germany’s Rock Am Ring festival, injuring 33 people, including 8 people from the festival’s crew.

At approximately 1 am Saturday Morning, after Marilyn Manson’s set was finished, lightning struck the grounds of the festival in the town of Mendig.

Several hours later at approximately 4 am, a second bolt struck at the campsites, injuring 25 people. No one was hit directly from lightning and the injured were cared for at a nearby hospital. Organizers confirmed the remainder of the festival would go ahead as planned.

90,000 fans are reportedly expected for this year’s festival which includes acts like Slipknot, Foo Fighters, Motörhead and In Flames.
