L7 Plans Legal Action Against PledgeMusic For Failed Camaign

As reported by Hupebot, a music industry website, reactivated Punk legends L7 have promised legal action against the owners of PledgeMusic for their cenced campaign to launch their comeback release. In an open letter to fans, they summarized their experience with PledgeMusic and those of other musicians: “in a nutshell, the funds that many bands and their supporters raised through the crowdfunding platform were absconded by the company with zero accountability and unreturned legal appeals.”

Thanks to help from Joan Jet’s Blackheart Records, the band has pressed and is distributing the music it promised fans, despite being owed well over $20,000 after the collapse of the crowdfunder who is likely to announce bankruptcy. In better days, scores of musicians were ardent supporters of the platform.
