Ty SegallFirst Taste Do you remember the last time

Ty did something that wasn’t infinitely cool? We don’t either. This record is no exception.

FAVOURITE TRACK: Taste

Karen O & Danger MouseLux Prima

This record is just sonic bliss. Listen on headphones and let it wash over you and take you to another dimension.

FAVOURITE TRACK: Woman

Desert Sessions – Volumes 11 & 12

If you’ve heard of the Desert Sessions before then you already know. 16 years since the last release and it was worth the wait. Concise and consistently fuckin’ cool.

FAVOURITE TRACK: Move Together

Swedish Death CandyAre You Nervous?

They’ve refined and nailed their sound on their second album. Dense with riffs heavy enough to change the earth’s orbit played tighter than Trump’s pouting lips.

FAVOURITE TRACK: Interstellar Love Machine

Foals – Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost Part 2

A two-part album isn’t anything new – most bands usually give you everything you want in Part 1 and leave you desperately disappointed for more in the follow up. Foals had the confidence to produce a solid introduction and hit you with the bangers in Part 2. Both parts probably deserve a mention but Part 2 delivered exactly what they had promised in the prequel.

FAVOURITE TRACK: Black Bull

Deja Vega Self Titled

One of the best live bands we’ve ever had the chance to play with. This record is relentless and perfect for ass shaking.

FAVOURITE TRACK: Mr. Powder

Psyence – Self Titled

If you need a record to strut and swagger yourself down the street like a slick son of a bitch, this is it. The whole album is just massive.

FAVOURITE TRACK: Dream Invader

SPQRLow Sun Long Shadows

Ok, so it’s not technically an album but there’s at least 4 songs worth of ideas in each track. You’ll end up playing it twice anyway because it’s so damn good which justifies its place on this list.

FAVOURITE TRACK: Josephine

KeysBring Me the Head of Jerry Garcia

A very underrated and unknown Welsh band with Boy Azooga on drums. They play rock and roll in its purest form. If you ever get a day off like Ferris Bueller, this needs to be the soundtrack to the montage at the end of it.

FAVOURITE TRACK: I only want you for your rock and roll

LizzoCuz I Love You

This one is a curveball but those opening notes she tears into in that first track let’s you know why this record was chosen. It’s got soul, humour and some bad ass beats. No one will be mad if you put this on at a party.

FAVOURITE TRACK: Boys
