Foo Fighters Drummer Taylor Hawkins Died One Year Ago

One year ago, Foo Fighters Taylor Hawkins died in his hotel room in Bogota, Colombia, where the band was scheduled to play at The Estereo Picnic Festival. In the year since his passing, there have been many musical and written tributes to Taylor from across the world of entertainment. Two charity tribute concerts were held on two continents with a who’s who of talent coming out to perform classics that he played on and music by other artists that he loved.

A member of the Foo Fighters for 25 years, prior to joining the band he was the touring drummer for Alanis Morissette. Some of Hawkins’s other projects include Chevy Metal, his cover band jam band, and Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders. He also appeared on albums for Slash (self-titled) and Coheed and Cambria (Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow). While the band is preparing to return to full-time activity and announce at least one, and possibly two drummers to sit behind the kid, no one can really replace the energy and spirit Taylor brought to the band. Enjoy these best moments Taylor left us with. RIP.
