FESTIVAL PREVIEW: Desertfest London Kicks Off Today


London’s annual three-day festival to tune in, turn on and drop out: Desertfest is back this weekend. Ghost Cult will be on hand once again covering the fest which features headliners High On Fire, Graveyard, Warning, Eyehategod, Napalm Death, Weedeater, The Obsessed, Hawkwind, Church of Misery, Death Alley, Kind and more! We thought we would help all you heshers and hesherettes out with a fest preview of all the must-see bands, all the stage times, and other essential shit, which will give you all more time to find snacks, snake brews and find your missing rolling papers. They are in your hand, dude. Dig? Cool.

Friday:

Today’s headliners Graveyard play at Koko, along with the Obsessed, and Zeke. The Electric Ballroom is stacked with Napalm Death, Warning, EHG, Five the Hierophant, Winterfylleth, and ASG doing the afterparty set. Underworld has Jex Thoth, and old favorites like Radio Moscow, and Black Moth. Other day one essential bands are Ghold, White Hills, Melting Hand, Popelord, Lionize, and Morass of Molasses.

Saturday:

The day 2 lineup this year is everything! The Electric Ballroom will be packed for High On Fire, Weedeater, Church of Misery, Ackercocke, and Admiral Sir Cloudsley Shuvel! In the meantime other stages boast Steak Number Eight, Black Rainbows, Wino (acoustic), Miss Lava, The Watchers, Mastiff, Made of Teeth, Telepathy and Snow Burial.

Sunday:

Closing things out for day three, the fantastic Monster Magnet, on the strength of their new album Mindfucker (Napalm). Joining them will be Hawkwind, Nebula, Elder, Monlord and more. Other day three must-sees are Death Alley, Weedeater, Primitive Man, Bison, Moloch, King Buffalo, Kind, Chrch, The Necromancers, and many more!
