The December edition of The Netherlands’ long-running avant-garde festival supreme, Incubate is fast approaching in a few weeks. Taking place December 10th and 11th; final performers, a creator-based comic book fair, and a Pole-Dancing Contest with Drone Plane experts have all been added to complete the lineup.
Newly added bands to complete the final Incubate event of 2016 are Dutch experimentalists Deutsche Ashram, animation improv Nintendo group Loudmatter (Marieke Verbiesen + Rene Aquarius + Monodeer), and metal bands Sariola (DE) and From Hell (USA) to the Dudok metal line-up on Sunday Dec 11th.
Incubate has also added a free Comic Fair. This will be accompanied by an English edition of the Wobby magazine, with contributions from different artists. There will also be talks, performances and interviews, but the main event will be your chance to meet and see some of your favorite creators. Guests include Bries (BE), Sigrid Calon (NL), Charlotte Dumortier (BE), Maurice van Es (NL), Jeroen Funke (NL), KAMP HORST (NL), Knust/Extrapool (NL), Vite (BE), The Stalinskis (NL), Tieten Met Haar (BE), and Ward Zwart (BE).
Artistic director Vincent Koreman commented:
‘We are super happy to add this cool project to our already stellar December line-up. This gives us the chance to bring together artists from all over the globe, spanning art, music, film, performance and now comics, for one last blast in 2016. This and a superb drone line-up in pole dancing club De Nacht will be the glowing reindeer nose in your dark holiday season.’
The newly added “stripclub” or pole-dancing club, De Nacht (‘The Night’) we’ll be presenting some Dutch and Belgian drone masters: R. De Selby, Lichtschade, Optical Machines and Filip Gheysen capturing and complimenting the dancers.
Incubate Zero has also been added and like the namesake is free for all to attend. A little taste of the festival so you can decide if you want more. On December 11th, everyone can enjoy some of the best new acts from the European underground. Divided over venues Cul de Sac and Babbus, the following bands will perform: Heads., Any Other, Fake O’s, Sven Agaath, The Shady Greys, Dead High Wire, Jellephant & The Phantoms and more.
