Pittsburgh instrumental trio The Long Hunt will release their new album Threshold Wanderer – due out April 1st, 2022. This will be their first release since 2017’s Wilderness Tales EP and 2018’s All Paths Lead to Here full-length. Following the previous single, “The Tower,” the band has dropped an incredible animated short film for the track “The Golden Bough!” After a three-month crash course in 3D modeling, using open-source animation software Blender, guitarist Trevor Richards embarked on the monumental task of writing and animating an album-length music video. Eight months and over 1000 hours of work later, the accompanying music video/short film for “Threshold Wanderer” was born. Watch it now!
The band comments:
“‘The Golden Bough’ has the band stretching out into classic rock and psychedelic territory with its crunchy riffs, fluid sense of timing, and octave fuzz solo. It’s arguably the brightest and most upbeat sounding song on the record, conjuring thoughts of sunny summer days, energetic youth, nature, that kind of thing.
The music video is inspired, in part, by archetypes such as the Green Man, Pan, the Fool, and the Shaman. It is a continuation of the building narrative story that was set in motion with our song ‘The Tower’.”
