Led by brothers Jared and Jordan Gooch, Salt Lake City’s The Band Gooch plays a feel-good mix of earnest 1990s homespun Punk-flavored Rock that will give fans the warm and fuzzies. They have a knack for writing mega hooky tracks that get stuck in your brain bone for hours. Their new album Modern High drops tomorrow and Ghost Cult brings you the first listen here!

“Modern High is a lot of things for us. It is much more than just our first album that is for sure. To us it is a symbol of a revolution, and of freedom. Each song carries its own tone and its own message, but collectively they all fall under one meaning, and that is freedom. It seems like in this day in age, we are all so connected, and there is so much noise all over the place and pressures to keep up, to compete or follow along and they are louder than ever. Not saying they are all bad, however amongst the noise it seems people have lost track of common sense, the beauty and simplicity of life, and in doing so lose track of themselves. This album is a symbol to not fall into those pressures, to not follow along someone else’s path and not to be drowned out by the noise of the world around you. Live your life your way. There are so many people selling you everything, telling you what to do and where to go and how live, they don’t know you so live your life.

We made this band, and this album because it is who we are. And we want everyone else to do the same. Be you, live your life.

We are so excited to share this with the world and hope everyone enjoys it! This is the first of many to come. We will be celebrating the release of this album on July 19 at the Velour in Provo, Utah. We will be playing with bands Paper Elephant and Pick Pocket. Doors open at 8 PM and tickets are only $8.
