Dropdead Vocalist Bob Otis Injured In Motorcycle Crash, GofundMe Launched By Friends

Dropdead frontman Bob Otis was injured in a motorcycle crash on July 18th where he skidded out on his bike in Providence, RI and rolled 25ft. Although he was wearing his helmet, he broke six ribs and suffered other injuries. Bob has a history of back and other medical problems, and this latest injury just compounds things for him physically and financially. His friends have launched a Gofundme for Bob to help with the medical bills. Please give if you can, to this artist who has given so much with his words, music and his own devotion to charitable causes.

Excerpted from the Gofundme:

Bob Otis is family to me, I’ve known him for 29 years. He is always the first person to offer help to any person in need, be it friend or stranger. He has sacrificed a lot of his own time, energy and what money he has, to save a bunch of animals in need time and again. He loves his job at RHD-RI working with adults that have developmental and physical disabilities.

He is absolutely the last person that would ask his friends, never mind people in general, for financial help of any kind.

Wednesday July 18th, Bob crashed riding his motorcycle with Kaleigh in Providence. While driving by the Olneyville car wash he attempted braking to slow down, not realizing the street in front of the car wash was coated with not just oil drips from cars, but a sheen of detergent from the cars leaving the car wash. He wiped out and rolled 25 feet down the road.

He was admitted to RI Hospital Trauma ICU with 6 broken ribs, along with multiple lacerations, bruises and road rash in a bunch of places. Fortunately he was wearing his helmet.

If you know what has been going on with Bob in the last year, this was like being kicked down in life while you’re trying to get back on your feet.
