ALBUM REVIEW: Goatwhore – Angels Hung From The Arches of Heaven


In our latest instalment of Where the Fuck Did All The Time Go? we discover it’s already been twenty-five years since the emergence of Louisiana blackened thrash/death outfit Goatwhore. Formed by guitarist Sammy Duet after the break-up of his previous band, legendary sludge lords Acid Bath, the band’s history can actually be traced back to 1991 when they were known as Kill Gore up until 1997 after Acid Bath, er… dissolved.

Over the past sixteen years since their debut, Dear Love, The Devil Wears Prada has been one of the most consistent bands in metalcore releasing seven albums over the past decade and a half. It’s not unfounded to say the band has become one of the leading stalwarts of the subgenre. Long-running blackened death metal legends Goatwhore will headline the 2018 Metal Alliance Tour. Kicking off on Halloween at Southport Music Hall on their home turf of New Orleans, Louisiana, the tour will make its way through over two dozen cities upon its conclusion November 30th in Easton, Pennsylvania.
