Salem, Massachusetts is home to the infamous Salem Witch Trials and the hysteria that followed is a serious blot on our history and the freedoms America holds dear. Now that city’s foremost Metal band, Carnivora, has released a new single and video calling attention to the sordid history and reclaiming the name and the roots of witchcraft’s true nature with a crushing new song “Witch City”! The track definitely incorporates some new sounds for the typically technical thrash band. Watch the video over at Revolver Magazine.

The band commented:

As a band from Salem, we wanted to pay homage with “Witch City” by drawing parallels between the Witch Trials and current times. The song explores a more dynamic and melodic approach to our sound than anything we’ve tapped into before. Like our last single “Bogdweller,” this one is produced by Matt Bachand (Shadows Fall, Act Of Defiance) and mixed / mastered by Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Hatebreed).

Punchdance Studios directed the music video and brought massive depth to the imagery behind the song. Shoutout to our Witch City Coven for helping us capture the right vibes.
