Anthrax Reflects on Their “Married With Children” TV Appearance in a New Video

Anthrax has shared a new video promoting their upcoming Perissitence of Time remaster! The “Persistence of Time” two-year album and tour “cycle” (1990-92) was loaded with all kinds of good trouble. The band toured with Iron Maiden on “Monsters of Rock” followed by “No Prayer for the Dying,” then jumped on the Clash of the Titans triple-headline extravaganza with Slayer and Megadeth, and Alice in Chains supporting, a trek that saw Anthrax playing Madison Square Garden for the first time, and closing the show. Another huge standout on the Persistence of Time cycle was when the band was asked to co-star on an episode of the groundbreaking TV sitcom, “Married With Children,” a show that happened to be a favorite of all the Anthrax members. The episode was entitled “My Dinner with Anthrax,” and the band spent a week with the Bundy family at the iconic Sunset-Gower Studios in the heart of Hollywood, learning their lines, rehearsing and shooting the episode. And getting into a little hot water with the show’s producers when they took “Bud Bundy” (David Faustino) to see Metallica. Charlie tells all in this Episode 4: “Married with Children.”

“To be on stage with your heroes, you feel like your feet aren’t touching the floor…”

– Charlie Benante
