Iconic progressive post-rock band Anathema has announced they will perform as the direct support for Opeth, during their concert at SSE Wembley Arena on November 19th. This is in addition to their already booked UK tour this fall.

Anathema had planned to spend November playing a string of intimate shows to road-test material from their still-untitled eleventh studio album, they could not turn down the chance to play this prestigious show in a classic setting

Vocalist Vincent Cavanagh comments:

“Wembley Arena is an iconic venue that evokes strong memories. Danny was drawn to the guitar as a way of life after seeing Mark Knopfler play there on TV. Huge thanks to Opeth for having us. It’ll be an honour.”

Anathema are due to enter the studio sometime after the tour but remain tight-lipped on information regarding the eagerly awaited follow-up to 2014’s Distant Satellites. In-between the writing sessions at their London studio, the band have embarked on new adventures, playing the likes of Starmus Festival in Tenerife.
