Having taken the death metal world by storm, it is an understatement to say that Sanguisugabogg’s sophomore release, Homicidal Ecstasy (Century Media), is highly anticipated. Everyone and their cool horror movie-obsessed grandmother is looking forward to this record and they will not be let down! Sure, there is some maturation here, and maybe music videos depicting penis monsters duking it out, but this is The Bogg that we all know and love.

‘Black Market Vasectomy’ kicks off Homicidal Ecstasy perfectly with equal amounts of groove and straight-up ignorant caveman riffs that will make you want to swing a club around. The breakdown that hits a little after the two-minute mark hits like a sack of rocks and has you ready for more. For those needing some two-stepping from Sanguisugabogg need not look further than ‘Hungry For Your Insides’. Between the d-beat drumming and the thunderous guitar grooves, people are bound to get nasty in the pit. ‘Narcissistic Incisions’ completes the spectrum of what The Bogg can do as this one brings some speed, some evil guitar riffs, and even some leads in there too to cut into your emotions just a bit.

Homicidal Ecstasy is one of those death metal albums that you will show your friends that are not into heavy music but say they “listen to everything.” This album is disgusting, vile, and downright dirty, which is everything we can ask for from the perverted Sanguisugabogg.
