Crobot – Welcome to Fat City

Pennsylvania’s own, Crobot return with their second studio release Welcome to Fat City (Wind-Up/Nuclear Blast) just in time for fall, and it’s a good one, folks!

The single ‘Not for Sale’ is an accurate portrayal of the energy, pounding riffs, and delicious bass strewn throughout the record as a whole. It may be the shortest song you’ll find here but it definitely packs a punch and you’ll find yourself singing along to it in no time.

‘Temple in the Sky’ with its groovy bass line coupled with Brandon Yeagley’s effortlessly cool vocals will take you on a journey. Chris Bishop’s guitar work is just the icing on the cake. This is another one to sing along and dance to and should translate really well to a live performance.

‘Moment of Truth’ causes me physical pain in the best way. It’s dripping with sex appeal and longing. Perfect. I knew it would wind up being my favorite track off of the new record within the first few seconds and it has not let me down. Maybe save this one for that “special” play list and/or keep it on repeat like I’ve been doing.

Having never listened to Crobot before, I was more than pleasantly surprised with this album. Welcome to Fat City rules. Go buy it. Buy it for your friends. Sexy, fuzzed out riffs make great Christmas presents, you know. Will this be on my nominations for best albums of 2016? Duh.
