Soilwork Hits The Studio, Begins Work On New Album


Swedish metal legends Soilwork have commenced recording their new album, due later in 2018/early 2019 for their long-time label Nuclear Blast Records. The band is at Nordic Sound Lab studios in Skara, Sweden, and have been sharing posts from their social media accounts of them at work on the production. The new album will be the follow—up to 2015’s acclaimed release, The Ride Majestic. It will be the bands first new music without drummer Dirk Verbueren, who departed the band to join Megadeth last year. New drummer Bastian Thusgaard (The Arcane Order) will make his recording debut on this release. Continue reading

Megadeth continues their resurgence for their current album Dystopia (Tradecraft). Bolstered by the recent addition of former Soilwork drummer Dirk Verbeuren, Dave Mustaine and company sound amazing live these days from the few times we’ve caught their act in 2016. To pull off a tour of this magnitude (small arenas) in this day an age where some bands are struggling to fill small clubs is admirable. Soilwork Drummer Dirk Verbeuren To Join Megadeth For Upcoming Shows Without Adler

Megadeth has enlisted Dirk Verbeuren of Soilwork to play drums for the band while Chris Adler tours with Lamb Of God. Verbeuren’s live debut with Megadeth will be later today (Friday, May 20) at the Rock On The Range festival in Columbus, Ohio. Verbeuren was recommended to play for Megadeth by Adler, who called Dirk “probably [one of the] top three drummers in the world.”
