The Summer Slaughter Tour to Finally Return This Summer After Four Years


According to a report from our friends at Lambgoat.com, The Summer Slaughter Tour will return after a four-year absence in 2024! Their official Instagram shared an image stating “We Are Back!” as well as Sumerian Records, a regular sponsor of the tour and provider of bands and support! The tour will be from July-August and will take place in US and Canada. The post also featured the track “Dynasty” from Brand of Sacrifice, hinting that they may be a part of the tour lineup. The band was on The Summer Slaughter tour in 2019. First taking place in 2007 in the USA and expanding to Canada, and Europe, the tour was responsible for the growth of popularity, especially in the USA of such bands as Necrophagist, The Black Dahlia Murder, Decapitated, Job For A Cowboy, Suicide Silence, Between The Buried and Me, Animals As Leaders, Cattle Decapitation, The Faceless, Periphery, and more. Vogg Kieltyka Has Quit Machine Head, Focusing on Decapitated


Guitarist Wacław “Vogg” Kiełtyka has quit Machine Head. He had been a member of the band since September 2019, after replacing Phil Demmel who quit in 2018. Vogg confirmed that he’s leaving the band to continue focusing on Decapitated, with a world tour about to embark and new music recording coming soon. Vogg’s final show with the band was in October 2023. He recorded one album with the band, ØF KINGDØM AND CRØWN (Imperium Recordings, Nuclear Blast Records) the Ghost Cult Album of the Year for 2022. For his part, Vogg’s statement is amicable and he wishes the band the best. Machine Head is currently on tour in the USA on the Slaughter The Mayrtour run of dates with Fear Factory and Orbit Culture. Read our review here. Reece Scruggs of Havok has been touring with Machine Head as their lead guitarist of late. Robb Flynn responded in Vogg’s comments section that the band was “lucky to have him for the time they did.” The band has yet to comment on the situation with Vogg. Allegaeon to Start Work on Album Number Seven


Colorado tech-death unit, Allegaeon, are just about to head back into the studio next week, alongside their original vocalist, Ezra Haynes. The band are set to record their seventh full-length album, with longtime producer Dave Otero (Flatline Audio). Kataklysm Share New Music Video for “Goliath”


US/French Canadian-based melodic death metal syndicate, Kataklysm, have just shared a brand new video for “Goliath,” directed and edited by Chris Kells Productions. The song is the title track from their fifteenth album, which was released last August via Nuclear Blast Records. Decapitated and Septicflesh Book a Co-Headline Tour with Kataklysm and Allegaeon


This spring, Death Metal fans will be treated to an epic night of music on the ‘Cancel Culture Over North America 2024’ tour. Death metal paragons Decapitated and Symphonic death metallers Septicflesh are heading on a 30-day co-billing trek with melodic death metal syndicate and labelmates, Kataklysm as direct support. The tour will commence on April 16th in Santa Ana and will make stops in Atlanta, Toronto, and Minneapolis before concluding in Los Angeles on May 19th. Joining the bands as openers are technical melodic death metal band Allegaeon. FESTIVAL REVIEW: Bloodstock Festival 2023 – Part 2

With the weather nothing like the crispy oven-cooked hellfire of last year’s Summerpocalypse, Bloodstock is a much happier place this year, and not even the first downpour of the weekend can dampen the spirits. Especially as today is Corpse-paint Day where everyone is invited to daub themselves in black and white make-up and become angry badgers for the next few hours.

KK’s Priest Replaces Helloween for Bloodstock Open Air, Festival Kicks Off Today


 

Final preparations are ready for this weekend’s Bloodstock Open Air, kicking off today, the 10th of August through the 14th at Catton Park, Derbyshire. Sad news as Helloween has been forced out of the fest due to a last-minute illness. They are being replaced by KK’s Priest, led by former Judas Priest guitarist KK Downing. BOA ‘s2023 Ronnie James Dio Main Stage Headliners are Killswitch Engage, Meshuggah, and Megadeth. with the full band list below.
