Ghost Cult has teamed up with Los Angeles-based enigmatic musical chameleons The Cabin Fever for the debut stream of their new single, ‘Window Pain’! The track comes from their forthcoming new album, Alone Together, releasing on September 27th! Pulling from a place of Alt-Rock throwback feels and shoegaze melancholy, the band always couches glimmers of optimistic humor inside their tracks. The band comments:
With our new single, Window Pain, The Cabin Fever are back with a new EP titled, “Alone Together” which continues our play-on-words approach that emerged with the previous offering, “Exercise the Demon”. We approach life with humor first and foremost before the dark matter and catharsis spills out from the subject of these songs. If we can’t laugh we will all cry and that’s no fun!
We hope Window Pain takes on unique meanings for its listeners as all art should do in our opinion. For the author, it’s about dealing with the suicide of a close friend and feeling like a distant observer with no ability to affect real change. This is a pattern that we all face as we are unable to bend reality to our will without the presence of severe mental illness.
